The Community Housing Services Agency (CHSA) is a local nonprofit 501(c)(3) housing organization established in 1989 by the City of Savannah in partnership with banking and community leaders to help leverage private resources to support the City's housing agenda.

On August 31, 2017, CHSA was certified by the U.S. Department of Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).   CDFI’s are mission-driven private financial institutions who are committed to supporting low-income, low-wealth, and other underserved people and communities.

 

Since its inception, CHSA has played a vital role in providing financial and other assistance associated with the repair, development and purchase of more than 1200 dwellings benefitting low-and moderate-income households.
